āWe are proud to live and work in western Wisconsin. It is the place we call home. We stick together, even when things get tough.ā says Bill Hogseth, organizing director of GROWW. āWe envision communities where all of us can lead a great life. Where everyone has a roof over their head, a meal on the table, and a job that can support a family. Weāre facing challenges before we get there, but we believe that things get better when people from different walks of life get together and find out what we have in common. So often, those of us closest to the problems are also closest to the solutions, yet we donāt have a seat at the table. Weāre changing that.ā
Next year, we will be expanding the community-led projects focused on addressing issues that are widely and deeply felt by people in our region such as housing, food insecurity, mental health, local agriculture, or other issues that arise. Conversations that begin at doors, over the phone, and at listening sessions will guide that work.
